Christmas 2009

This year as I have been doing for the last 3 years, was spent in Lexington, Ky with my youngest daughter. She has such a giving spirit that going to her house was delightful.
I actually got to go for her birthday this year and remembering that day some f#@&y years later was so much fun. I can remember the day I went into labor with her. It was a Sunday and I had finished baking jam cakes for all my siblings and had made my husband's favorite cookie that had to dry overnight. Our church service was on the radio and the pastor was preaching on the trip to Bethleham for Mary and Joseph. I knew how Mary felt as she rode the donkey down the narrow roads and lanes. I felt each step of that donkey.
My granddaughters were both very excited about Christmas and at 3 A.M. Christmas morning they were talking in their rooms. I could not believe that a three year old could stay awake that long. It was so much fun to see how excited they were and to enjoy a nice time with them playing the games that Santa had brought them.
The greatest thing is that there is a birthday coming up for the youngest and I hope to go back to their house to celebrate Hailey's fourth birthday. Grandchildren are so much fun. They keep us young. God bless each of you as the New Year is about to dawn. May the Loving Father grant all your desires in the coming New Year.

Driving

Well my second grandson has started driving, finally. His dad just got his car on the road and says MJ does a good job of driving. Since he just turned 18 on Monday, Columbus Day, he feels like he has been turned loose. Please pray for him to remember that he has lost some friends to drinking and driving.

new school year

We finally have gotten my 17 yr. old grandson eligible to play his last year of football at NBHS. He has been a bear about doing what he needs to do. I at least know where he is during the day and also after school each day. I thank God every day that he seems to enjoy being in school this year.

July 9,2009

After a very quiet day on the fourth we were able to watch fireworks right out side of our door. they were beautiful but loud. I guess that some were not able to launch theirs so we had a repeat performance the next night. In fact we had several nights of loud booms and bright crackles. I love the 4th.

My youngest came to town Monday and we had lunch at Cracker Barrel and had a wonderful time. We will have to do this more often. She is excited to be getting a new house so I will once again have to find the best route to find her. It is quite an adventure sometimes to to find my girls when they move.

Just wanted to write what has happened this week so far. Hope each of you have a good day and God bless each one of you.

family

This year I have had all my family, my three children, here at one time. No. 1 daughter and her husband came in from Arkansas with two of her children. No. one son came in from work. He lives with me. No. 2 daughter came in from Lexington, KY. We all went to my brother's for a cook out. It was great having them here. That was June 10.
On June 23 I celebrated my birthday with receiving several cards and e-mail best wishes. Also I received a beautiful bouquet of lavender and white flowers. Those flowers are still pretty. The card had the message I love you, Mama. By the process of elimination I found the one who sent them. They were from No 1 daughter. So than you all who sent cards, Sandi for the flowers and all the prayers that came my way on my special day.

Camera

I have finally gotten a way to download pictures off my camera. I had to get a new computer and since I could get a printer for free, I bought it too lol. It has the little slot for the memory card from my camera and now I can get pictures to post. Now if I can remember to take my camera with me when I go places it would help.

looking for blogs

My computer crashed in September and I am looking for sites that I was following before the death of CPU. One that I have been looking for was by a woman who was losing weight and she had some awesome looking recipes that I wanted to try. Her son took part in the Louisville KY Ironman thingy last year or the year before. If anyone knows who she is or what her site is I would love to reconnect with her. Thank you for your help.
