Christmas 2009

This year as I have been doing for the last 3 years, was spent in Lexington, Ky with my youngest daughter. She has such a giving spirit that going to her house was delightful.
I actually got to go for her birthday this year and remembering that day some f#@&y years later was so much fun. I can remember the day I went into labor with her. It was a Sunday and I had finished baking jam cakes for all my siblings and had made my husband's favorite cookie that had to dry overnight. Our church service was on the radio and the pastor was preaching on the trip to Bethleham for Mary and Joseph. I knew how Mary felt as she rode the donkey down the narrow roads and lanes. I felt each step of that donkey.
My granddaughters were both very excited about Christmas and at 3 A.M. Christmas morning they were talking in their rooms. I could not believe that a three year old could stay awake that long. It was so much fun to see how excited they were and to enjoy a nice time with them playing the games that Santa had brought them.
The greatest thing is that there is a birthday coming up for the youngest and I hope to go back to their house to celebrate Hailey's fourth birthday. Grandchildren are so much fun. They keep us young. God bless each of you as the New Year is about to dawn. May the Loving Father grant all your desires in the coming New Year.
